Student Visa (Subclass 500):
The Student Visa (Subclass 500) allows international students to study full-time at an accredited educational institution in Australia. This visa is suitable for primary, secondary, vocational, and higher education courses.
Key Features:
- Valid for the duration of the enrolled course.
- Allows part-time work (up to 48 hours per fortnight during study periods and unlimited hours during scheduled breaks).
- Eligible family members (spouse/children) can accompany the applicant.
- Requires proof of enrollment (CoE), financial capacity, English proficiency, and health insurance (OSHC).
Student Guardian Visa (Subclass 590):
The Student Guardian Visa (Subclass 590) is for parents or legal guardians of international students under 18 years of age who are studying in Australia on a Student Visa (Subclass 500).
Key Features:
- Allows the guardian to stay in Australia to provide care and support for the student.
- The guardian must not bring family members unless they are also guardians.
- Limited work rights (no more than 20 hours per week).
- Requires proof of financial capacity and health insurance (OSHC).
Temporary Graduate Visa (Subclass 485):
The Temporary Graduate Visa (Subclass 485) is for international students who have recently graduated from an Australian institution and wish to gain work experience in Australia.
Two Streams:
- Graduate Work Stream: For graduates with skills and qualifications relevant to an occupation on the Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL). Valid for up to 18 months.
- Post-Study Work Stream: For graduates of higher education degrees (Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD). Validity ranges from 2 to 6 years, depending on the qualification.
Key Features:
- Allows full-time work in Australia.
- Provides a pathway to permanent residency for eligible applicants.
- Requires recent completion of an eligible Australian qualification.
